Bob Cowser, Jr.

Originally cast as one of Fagin’s urchins in a university production of “Oliver!” as a grade-schooler, more recently Bob Cowser starred as Detective Max Callahan in the indie neo-noir thriller BLACK SHEEP filmed on location in Cambodia in spring 2026. He is a native of rural west Tennessee (accent available upon request 😉) who has since visited 33 countries and lived for long stretches in 5 of them. Cowser holds a doctorate in English literature and has taught courses in writing, film, and literature for 3 decades at a liberal arts college in upstate New York. He is the author of 3 works of original nonfiction and editor of two others. He spent 5 seasons as a semi-pro football player and has almost 400 scuba dives to his credit.
