Tyshawn Jamison

Tyshawn Jamison is a Brooklyn-born SAG-AFTRA actor and filmmaker with a strong passion for character-driven storytelling and bringing authentic, emotionally grounded performances to the screen. As an actor, Tyshawn brings natural presence, emotional depth, confidence, and versatility to his work, with the ability to move between dramatic, comedic, intense, authoritative, vulnerable, and everyday relatable characters. His approach to acting is rooted in understanding the character beyond the dialogue—who they are, what they want, what they are carrying emotionally, and what is happening underneath the words. He is especially drawn to film and television roles that allow him to explore complex characters and stories involving family, relationships, ambition, identity, conflict, resilience, and personal transformation. Tyshawn is a graduate of Full Sail University’s Film program, where his education behind the camera strengthened his abilities in front of it. His experience with directing, producing, writing, cinematography, editing, blocking, lighting, and visual storytelling gives him a deeper understanding of how an actor’s performance works within the entire production. He understands camera placement, eyelines, continuity, coverage, marks, framing, and how to adjust a performance while maintaining the emotional truth of a scene. As the founder of Typerception LLC, Tyshawn has also produced and directed narrative films, documentaries, interviews, commercials, music videos, and branded content. Working on both sides of the camera has made him a collaborative and production-aware actor who understands the responsibilities of everyone on set while remaining focused on his performance. A Brooklyn native with Nigerian heritage, Tyshawn brings his own life experiences, perspective, and authenticity into his work. He continues to develop his craft and is pursuing opportunities across film, television, streaming, commercials, voiceover, and independent productions, with a particular interest in drama, action, crime, thriller, comedy, and emotionally driven roles.
