Jared Empson

Hi, I'm Jared Empson. I've been performing for over 25 years, and honestly, I can't imagine doing anything else. I've covered a lot of ground in that time. From community theater stages in rural Pennsylvania to a 20th Century Fox production. I've played Scrooge, I've played a gangster, and for six years I brought Eliot Ness to life at the Eliot Ness Festival. Every role has taught me something different about how to find the truth in a character, and I carry that with me into every new project. More recently, I've been expanding into indie film. I had the opportunity to work with Ryan Cavalline and Legend Hunters Films, and that experience lit a fire in me for screen work. There's something about the intimacy of the camera that challenges you in ways the stage just can't. I'm actively pursuing more screen roles and loving every step of that journey. But I don't just act, I direct too. I've helmed multiple productions over the years, and right now I'm in the thick of directing Noël Coward's Hay Fever for the Potter-McKean Players, where I also serve as Vice President. Sitting on both sides of the process has made me a sharper performer. I know what directors are looking for, and I know how to bring it. I trained at John Casablancas International and I'm constantly working to sharpen my craft, whether that's in rehearsal, on set, or just studying what makes a performance land.
