Lady Peachena

Lady Peachena is a Grammy Award winning Songwriter and powerful Gospel singer with her own Gospel choir, the famed Late Show's Gospel Choir, formerly of CBS TV'S LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, that she formed in 1995 at Paul Shaffer's request when he was looking for a choir to sing on a video about a crazy knife-wielding guy named "MOE." During their recording session Paul fell in love with their strong, harmonious voices so much that he invited them to sing live on "THE LATE SHOW" the very next night. From there this phenomenal choir sang once or twice every year for a decade from Oct. 1995 to 2005, on "THE LATE SHOW," singing with such celebrities as Darlene Love, Steve Martin, Ernesto Iglesias, Gloria Estefan, Shawn Mendes, and others. The highlight of the LSG Choir's performances was when "THE LATE SHOW" earned an Emmy Award for this choir's spectacular performance with Martin Shore singing an hilarious parody of Celine Dion's hit song "MY HEART WILL GO ON" after Dave's successful heart by-pass surgery in 2001. Lady Peachena has appeared as an Extra in over 100 TV shows and films for the past 40 years. After hearing her sing offstage, Spike Lee gave her a cameo spot singing in his mysterious movie, "DA SWEET BLOOD OF JESUS." In Feb. 2023, Lady Peachena with The Late Show's Gospel Choir sang popular hymn, "PRECIOUS LORD," in "DEAR EDWARD," Episode 2, "FOOD," Season 1, that's streaming on Apple TV now. She's directing the choir and leading her Grammy Award winning song, "DANCING IN THE SPIRIT," and Negro Spiritual "DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE," in the revived series of "THE BIG C," Episode 10, "DIVINE INTERVENTION" that's streaming now on NETFLIX. The Gospel Diva was also featured in the smash-hit movie SONG SUNG BLUE starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson that grossed over $50 million dollars at the box office earlier this year. Now it's streaming on Peacock TV. As a playwright, Lady Peachena wrote and presented her dynamic musical, "THE GREAT DIVAS OF GOSPEL" at many churches and theaters all over America for 30-plus years. In this production she's played the powerhouse roles of Miss Mahalia Jackson and Dorothy Love Coates, leader of the Original Gospel Harmonettes. Over the years Lady Peachena has produced 11 inspirational albums: 2 of The Late Show's Gospel Choir, 3 of her kids choirs, New York's Youth Sunshine Choir and The Eubie Blake School Choir, and 6 solo albums. Currently she's finishing up 7th solo inspirational CD. Expect it sometime this summer!
