Michael performed in musical theater in the 1970s and 1980s. He performed in comedy theater in the 1980s. He trained in broadcasting and worked in radio in the 1970s and 2000s. He performed as a studio musician in Nashville in the 1980s. He has performed cowboy poetry since his grown children were young. He was an arena announcer for horse shows in the early 2020s. Today he can play roles as varied as a caring grandfather or a grizzled old prospector. He is comfortable playing with livestock and horses, having grown up on a ranch in Kansas. He can play a seasoned farmer in rural scenes dressed in old coveralls.
