Pierre Marchand

I am a 72-year-old French Canadian living in San Diego, California. I have always maintained an active and healthy lifestyle and am proud to be a lifelong non-smoker and non-drinker. My background has been anything but ordinary. In the mid-1970s, I had the honor of representing Canada as a member of the Canadian National Judo Team. In the early 1980s, I pursued a career as a professional boxer, training under the guidance of the legendary Archie Moore, one of boxing’s most respected champions. Throughout most of my professional life, I worked in sales, where I developed strong communication, relationship-building, and business skills. I also owned and operated a small demolition business, gaining valuable experience in entrepreneurship and managing a business from the ground up. My interests and experiences also led me briefly into the entertainment industry. In the early 1970s, I appeared in a low-budget French Canadian film. Later, in the mid-1980s, I was signed by the Wilhelmina talent agency for commercial opportunities. Unfortunately, family responsibilities and financial circumstances prevented me from pursuing that opportunity further at the time. Looking back, I am grateful for the many different chapters of my life—from competitive judo and professional boxing to business, sales, and the entertainment industry. Each experience has shaped who I am today and given me a unique perspective on life, perseverance, and pursuing opportunities when they arise.
