When a casting director posts a call, our matching system runs through every active talent profile and pairs the call with everyone who fits. You don't have to find the call — the call finds you.
What we match on
- Location. Local calls match talent in that state. Nationwide and online calls match anyone, regardless of location.
- Demographics. When a director specifies a target age range, gender, or ethnicity, we only match talent who fit. Calls with no demographic targeting match everyone (within location rules).
- Category. Background, commercial, supporting, lead. Some calls also accept additional categories.
- Online auditions. If a call is open to remote auditions, location matters much less — the talent pool widens.
What happens after you're matched
Once you're matched to a casting call, the director can see your profile in their submission queue. From there:
- The director may view your profile (you'll see a profile view in your activity feed)
- They may shortlist you for the role — a strong signal of interest
- They may request an introduction, which sends a notification you can accept or decline
- Or they may move on without taking action — that's normal too. Casting decisions involve a lot of profiles for every role.
Why didn't I match this call?
If you saw a casting call somewhere and expected to match but didn't, the most common reasons are:
- The call's targeting (location, age, gender, etc.) didn't include your profile
- Your profile is incomplete — missing demographic fields skip you in matching
- The call is local in a different state and isn't open to online auditions
You can also browse all currently-open casting calls at /calls and submit directly to any that interest you, even ones you weren't auto-matched to.
How often does matching run?
Matching runs daily and again whenever a director posts a new call. So new opportunities show up on your dashboard within a day of being posted.
