Kenrick Prince's short film "Kenny" is casting male actors in New York, NY for a shoot running November 20 through November 23.
The film follows a gay Bahamian asylum seeker in New York who, two nights before his immigration interview, is forced to confront how much of his identity he must perform to be believed by the immigration system — becoming what they expect to see and learning that safety has a price.
Four roles are available:
Kenny (Lead) — A tall, masculine-presenting Black/Bahamian gay man in his mid-20s with a mild Bahamian accent. Kenny is intelligent, dryly funny, proud, careful, and deliberate. This is a heavy dramatic role that includes movement, dance, and choreographed intimate-content material.
Kito (Supporting) — A late-20s Black/Ugandan gay man who is masculine-presenting, observant, witty, and fiercely protective. Kito is Kenny's best friend, and you'll need to build strong, believable friendship chemistry with the actor playing Kenny.
Leonard (Supporting/Featured Antagonist) — A put-together, charming, attentive White man in his 30s, patient and driven by a desire to control. You must build believable chemistry while playing warmth as a weapon.
Larry (Day Player) — An early-30s Black/Jamaican gay man who is masculine-presenting, animated, and the life of any table. Strong comic-conversational timing and an authentic Jamaican accent/patois are required.
All actors must be comfortable with the film's intimacy notice: the story includes a choreographed simulated scene involving physical intimacy and close bodily contact. No nudity or actual sexual activity will occur.
The shoot runs November 20 to November 23 in New York, NY. Submissions are due by October 23.
Pay is $257 per day.
