It explores the lives and essential humanity of individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Jamaica. • Kwame Dawes' Role: The project is anchored by the poetry of Kwame Dawes, capturing his reporting and deep emotional engagement with the subjects. • Victoria Melhado's Feature: Victoria Melhado (now Melhado-Daley), a prominent Jamaican nurse, midwife, and youth advocate, is a featured "Vital Voice" in the documentary. At the time, she served as a facilitator for an HIV/AIDS support group. • Accolades: The project won major critical acclaim, earning a Poople's Voice Webby Award (2009), an Emmy Award for New Approaches to News & Documentary Programming (2009), and a Gracie Award for Outstanding Documentary (2010). I have a lot of work and personal experiences that would make me good at small & supporting roles. My 25 years experience in the social work field, most of which has been in crisis intervention and advocacy, has given me the ability to read people, have good instincts and know how to engage with all kinds of people. I am flexible and learn quickly. My education is in Psychology and I live with my husband, two teenage kids, a puppy and two cats. I think acting could be a natural extension of my love of interacting with people.
